North Salem Youth Baseball & Softball is committed to growing the game right here in our community. We have a proud history of success — from multiple Little League district titles to state championships at the high school level. We're a small town with incredible athletes, and together we can reignite the tradition and pride that generations of North Salem ballplayers helped create.

In-House Biddy T-Ball

Our In-House Biddy T-Ball program offers a fun introduction to both baseball and softball for Pre-K and Kindergarteners. This is a great way to connect with the North Salem Tigers community this spring while teaching our youngest athletes the fundamentals of the game.

Building on the success of the 2025 Scorchers Softball season, we are excited to extend this model to all North Salem girls grades 1-6. This expansion creates a true In-House offering, ensuring a fully local and community-focused softball program for our athletes.

Brewster Little League Baseball Illustration

Brewster LL Baseball

Since 2020, North Salem has partnered with Brewster Little League to provide an integrated program for our baseball community. North Salem baseball players in grades 1-6 are encouraged to register with BLL and participate in the league.

In-House Biddy T-Ball

Building on the success of our 2025 T-Ball program, we're excited to offer a co-ed introduction to baseball and softball for our youngest athletes. This parent-led program is designed to encourage growth, build confidence, and foster a love of the game in a fun, supportive environment.

Who Can Play

Open to registered Pre-K students and Kindergarteners. Players will be split into balanced teams to ensure a fun and fair experience for everyone.

Season Structure

Teams meet twice per week for one hour each session:

One practice during the week
One game on the weekend

Parent-Led Program

This program is parent-led to encourage the growth and development of our youngest players. We're looking for 2 volunteer coaches per team to help drive success and create a positive experience for all players.

Coach Support: NSYA will provide coaches training prior to the start of the season, including practice plans and a framework to help all coaches succeed.

In-House Softball

Building on the success of the 2025 Scorchers Softball season, we're expanding to create a comprehensive In-House program for all North Salem girls in grades 1-6. This community-focused program combines local competition with skill development appropriate for each age group.

Three Age-Appropriate Divisions

Grades 1 & 2

Coach Pitch: Focus on fundamentals and building confidence at the plate

Grades 3 & 4

Hybrid Coach & Player Pitch: Transition to competitive play with development support

Grades 5 & 6

Player Pitch: Full competitive softball experience

Season Schedule

Each division plays an in-house schedule consisting of:

One practice per week to develop skills
One game per week for competitive play
In-house games against other North Salem teams
Scheduled games against local little leagues

This balanced approach ensures players get both development time and game experience while building community connections.

Volunteers Make It Happen

We're looking for volunteer coaches to lead our teams. No prior coaching experience required — just enthusiasm and a willingness to help our girls grow!

In-House Summer Travel Options

As part of a coordinated effort to grow competitive youth baseball and softball opportunities within our community, we are launching Youth Summer Travel Baseball & Softball teams.

Summer Baseball

$350^*

This is a separate and more focused commitment than participating in spring local little league(s) i.e. Brewster Little League. Building on the success of our 2025 Tigers and Volunteers programs, we're launching competitive travel teams for 9u & 10U players. This requires additional commitment beyond the spring season, including enhanced training and participation in the Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League throughout the summer.

Summer Softball

$350^*

This is a separate and more focused commitment than our In-House Spring season, requiring additional time, training, and financial investment. Participation in the summer program would require participation in our In-House Spring season. We are exploring the formation of 10U (Players born after 8/31/2014 i.e. 3rd, 4th & 5th grade) & 12U (Players born after 8/31/2012 i.e. 5th, 6th, & 7th grade) teams in the Greater Hudson Valley Softball League.

What's Involved

Winter Pre-Season Training (Winter & Spring)

Weekly, skill-focused training sessions designed to prepare players for summer competition, with an understanding that families balance multiple sports and activities during the winter and spring (including our Spring In-House season).

Summer Season

The season would run approximately June 12 – August 9, competing in the GHVSL. Teams would typically have 2-3 games and/or practices per week.

We recognize that summer vacation schedules are a reality for families and that some conflicts may arise. Our goal is to work with families to set clear expectations while maintaining the commitment and competitiveness required for a summer travel team.

Program Cost

As a non-profit organization, our priority is keeping costs as low as possible while still providing a high-quality experience for our athletes. Registration Fees include all winter and spring training, as well as summer travel expenses (league & umpire fees, baseballs/softballs, uniforms, insurance).

The cost for the travel team(s) is $350/player, but if volunteer coaching requirements are not met, the cost will be $550 if a paid coach is hired for a specific team.
